Cracked Heel Treatment in Burnley
Dry, thickened heel skin and painful splits gently cared for by a qualified Foot Health Practitioner, with simple advice to keep heels soft.
Appointment only · Hapton, Burnley BB11 5QH
Why heels crack
Cracked heels usually start as dry skin that thickens around the rim of the heel. Thick, dry skin cannot stretch as you walk, so it splits. Shallow cracks are mostly a nuisance, but deeper ones can be sore and can catch on socks and bedding.
At the clinic, the thickened skin around the cracks is gently reduced so the heel can flex again, and Lynda gives practical advice on moisturising and footwear to stop the skin building up so quickly.
If you also have corns or callus or need your toenails cut, it can all be looked after in one visit.

Cracked Heels questions
How much does cracked heel treatment cost?
Cracked heel care is given within a foot health appointment. A full foot treatment, which includes toenail cutting plus corns and callus, is £35, and basic toenail cutting is £25. Lynda will confirm which appointment suits you when you book.
What causes cracked heels?
Usually dry skin that thickens around the heel and then splits as you walk. Open backed footwear, standing for long periods and simply not moisturising enough can all make it worse.
Can cracked heels be serious?
Most cracked heels are uncomfortable rather than serious. Deep cracks that bleed, look infected or will not heal should be seen by your GP, and this matters even more if you have diabetes.
How can I stop my heels cracking again?
Regular moisturising with a foot cream, supportive closed footwear and keeping the hard skin in check with regular appointments all help. Lynda will give you advice that fits your feet.
