What reflexology is, and what it is not
Reflexology is a complementary therapy in which gentle, focused pressure is worked over the feet. At the clinic it is offered for one reason: to give you calm, attentive care where the only thing you need to do is relax.
It is a wellbeing treatment, not a medical one. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition, and it never replaces advice from your GP. Many clients simply find it a welcome pause in a busy week, and some come back regularly because they enjoy it.
If you would like the same calm approach for your face, there is also facial reflexology, or a combined foot and facial treatment.
What happens at your appointment
A short, relaxed chat
Lynda asks how you are and notes a little health history, so the treatment can be adapted to you. Mention anything you are unsure about here.
Settle in
You take off your shoes and socks and are made comfortable on the couch with cushions and a towel.
The treatment
Gentle pressure is worked over both feet at an unhurried pace. Some people chat, many simply close their eyes.
Afterwards
Take a moment before you head off. There is no hard sell and no pressure to book again.
