Privacy Policy

Who we are
The Foothealth & Therapy Clinic is run by Lynda Comberbach at Bentleywood, Accrington Road, Hapton, Burnley, BB11 5QH. The clinic decides how and why your information is used, which under UK data protection law makes it the data controller.
You can reach us by email at hello@foothealthandtherapyclinic.co.uk, or by phone or text on 07803 574 327.
The clinic is not currently registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Lynda intends to register, and this policy will be updated with the registration number once that is in place.
The information we hold
When you get in touch
If you message the clinic on WhatsApp, call, text or email, we hold what you send us: your name, your phone number or email address, and whatever you choose to tell us about why you are getting in touch. There is no contact form on this website, so those are the only ways an enquiry reaches us.
WhatsApp messages are delivered through WhatsApp, which is part of Meta. Meta processes those messages under its own privacy policy as well as ours. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, phone, text and email work just as well.
When you come for an appointment
To treat you safely we need to record health information: relevant medical history, any medication you are taking, what we find during treatment and what was done. Health information is a special category of personal data, and the law requires it to be handled more carefully than ordinary contact details.
Your treatment notes are kept on paper at the clinic. They are not typed up or stored in any software, and nobody other than Lynda has access to them.
When you pay
The clinic takes card payments in person using a SumUp card machine. SumUp processes that payment data under its own privacy policy in order to complete the transaction. We do not hold your full card number, and nobody other than Lynda handles your payment details.
When you visit this website
This website does not use cookies, and it does not run any advertising or analytics tool that identifies you or tracks you between visits. A short, anonymous count of page visits is kept to help us understand which pages are useful, but it holds no IP address, no device identifier and nothing that can be traced back to you.
The website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps short-term technical logs in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Why we use your information, and our lawful basis
| What for | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to enquiries and arranging appointments | Our legitimate interests, so that we can run the clinic and respond to you |
| Treating you and keeping proper treatment records | Necessary for the provision of health care, alongside your consent to treatment |
| Taking payment and keeping accounting records | Legal obligation, and our legitimate interests |
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing. Nobody other than Lynda routinely sees your client notes or payment details: there is no other staff member, receptionist, accountant or bookkeeper with access. Your information is shared only with:
• WhatsApp and Meta, if that is how you contact us
• Vercel, which hosts this website
• SumUp, to process a card payment
• anyone we are legally required to share it with, or where there is a serious risk to someone’s safety
How long we keep it
We keep treatment records for as long as they remain relevant to your ongoing care, and enquiries that do not become appointments only for as long as needed to respond. We do not yet have a fixed retention schedule for this; once one is in place, this policy will be updated to state it clearly.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have mistakes corrected, to ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time where consent is the basis we rely on. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email hello@foothealthandtherapyclinic.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please tell us first and we will try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: online at ico.org.uk, by phone on 0303 123 1113, or by post at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
